It is true that a picture is worth a thousand words . . . I am using my camera as my pen and the film as my notebook. The images I capture express my interpretation of the World around me.

“Temporary Permanence” focuses on the ephemeral quality our life experiences add to the structures we create and inhabit. I have always been intrigued with abandoned property and possessions that are scattered along our highways. When I see a boarded up home off in the distance I often think “What happened here?”

I have been photographing these sites seriously for the past two years. During this time, I have attempted to delve deeper into the stories behind these structures.

Even though there are weeds overtaking the yards or graffiti scrawled on any available wall; I find beauty within the mystery of the life that once filled its rooms. These images bring to attention aspects of our world that most choose to ignore. Where many see an eyesore needing to be torn down . . . I see a mystery waiting to be solved
